International Sales Coach & Creator Of The New Sales Code™

What motivated you to pursue this profession?

I laid the foundation for my business from the ground up, commencing my journey in B2B sales over 15 years ago. Specializing in the medical sales sector, I steadily climbed the ranks, transitioning into sales leadership and management roles. What initially began as “just a job” at the age of 20 evolved into a lifelong passion. Growing, aging, and pursuing personal goals alongside expanding my knowledge and skills, I discovered that my unwavering commitment stemmed from my deep-seated passion for people, understanding their needs, and integrating mindfulness into the sales process.

Recognizing the complexity of human nature and the intricate decisions we make, I accumulated 15 years of real-world experience, emphasizing hard work, loyalty, and a dedication to my continuous education. Motivated by a desire to share the knowledge I had amassed, I embarked on supporting others and adding more depth to the world of sales. Initially, this endeavor started as a side hustle, gradually gaining traction on social media.

Witnessing a need among small business owners, coaches, and solopreneurs who aspired to reach their income targets and grow their businesses but lacked essential sales skills, I saw an opportunity. After years of expanding my online presence and coaching individuals worldwide, I took a decisive step, transitioning into full-time coaching. My inspiration and driving force remain rooted in continual growth, the gratification of imparting knowledge, and a profound understanding of the human experience. Witnessing the success, fulfillment, and increased confidence of those I teach reinforces my belief that I’ve contributed to making the world a slightly better place.

What challenges have you faced while collaborating with or coaching clients, and how did you navigate through them?

Initially, the most challenging yet ultimately rewarding obstacle I encountered was trusting in my own abilities and knowledge sufficiently to take the leap of faith and launch my own business. In the online realm, another hurdle I navigated involved establishing my personal brand to a level of respectability, positioning myself as the go-to authority figure in the field. Building enough trust for people to actively seek my guidance demanded substantial effort.

When working with individuals, I grapple with obstacles such as their fears, lack of confidence, and occasionally, entrenched mindsets. Rather than viewing these as impediments, I perceive them as opportunities – chances for me to facilitate a more fulfilling and successful work life for a business or individual. It’s a fortuitous moment for my clients to overcome their own challenges, transforming obstacles into stepping stones toward progress.

In your perspective, what essential qualities should business coaches possess?

In my view, a coach, regardless of the specialization, should embody traits of resilience, passion, empathy, and adaptability. Genuine care for making a positive impact on clients and delivering tangible results, as opposed to a mere focus on making a sale, is imperative. Persistence, honesty, and a willingness to take decisive action are also key attributes.

Generally, individuals often make decisions based on the benefits or features they would gain from a specific product or service. In case of a business coach, which benefits or aspects do you consider the most impactful?

It’s human nature for people to buy from people they know, like or trust. With a coach the most important benefit someone will gain (with the right coach for them) is working with someone who truly aims to understand them, adapting to their specific needs, and working with them to overcome their obstacles and achieve the outcome or results they are looking for.

How would you characterize your coaching approach?

I get people! Most of my clients come to me because I’m different in the way I go about things. Being a born and raised Kiwi (New Zealander) the nature of the people who have grown up here or lived here a long time is pretty down to earth, so I think that honest, calm and understanding essence is part of what makes me different. People will see many overpowering sales and business coaches with “tactics” that simply don’t resonate. I don’t force, pressure or pitch potential clients, it’s about inspiring the buy!

I coach, mentor and teach clients in a completely new style using my “The New Sales Code” method. I show clients how to get paid their true value, and their target income, so they can build a successful business and lifestyle they can enjoy, even if they’ve had no previous sales experience. I aim to not bandaid the problem or challenges, I want my clients to overcome their obstacles, gain confidence, broaden their knowledge and meet their goals. I want to know and understand my clients. I believe real connections make for real results. I aim to make an impact, I’m not here for just the short term, but for the long term!

Could you share a specific instance from your experience that illustrates the effectiveness and efficiency a business coach can bring to a business?

They can and will change lives! One example I can give is a client who came to me wanting to grow her business and was struggling with attracting and converting clients. I have been working with her for 6 months. We started with one of my high level 1-1 12 week programmes which has now morphed into more of a mentor role, where we have meetings when she is needing that extra support or has a new challenge. She went from leaving her full time stable, financially comfortable corporate job, to starting her own business that was not bringing in a consistant income, and was not reaching the level of growth she wanted; to now, scaling her business to 6 figures in just over 7 months. I am incredibly proud of her. She put in the work! And continues to put in the work implementing everything I have taught her. This is just one example of the type of success that CAN be achieved when you work with me. I want my clients to succeed and enjoy their work and lifestyle!

In your perspective, which of your achievements or accolades holds particular significance among the others?

While juggling a demanding job as a Sales Manager, having a young family, and a side hustle at the time, my biggest accomplishment has been starting my sales and coaching business. It is no easy feat starting, managing or running one’s own business.

Who played the most pivotal role as a strongest supporter in your successful career journey, believing in you and providing motivation to achieve current role and position?

My incredible and beautiful wife has been my unwavering support since the very beginning. We crossed paths when I was 21, and she was 20. From early on, I harbored ambitions for a more fulfilling life, and she consistently supported and encouraged my aspirations. With patience and understanding, she stood by my side, endorsing my mission and being a steadfast presence at every stage of my journey.

What valuable thoughts would you like to share on to the next generation of coaches?

Irrespective of your role, your mindset is a crucial factor. It’s essential to cultivate self-belief – the conviction that you can achieve your goals!

Although many individuals excel in their expertise, the challenge often lies in effectively communicating and selling their capabilities to others. Regardless of your field, enhancing your sales proficiency is a necessity. Understanding the value you bring and mastering the art of persuasion is key.
